Hello, I’m Daria – the owner of this growing shop, your dedicated temporary synthetic locs creator, and your guide on this amazing journey. If someone had told me years ago that I’d have my own shop and connect with thousands of people worldwide, I wouldn’t have believed them. I come from a tiny Siberian village, where there were barely 50 people at any given time, and from a poor family where we barely had enough food. As a little girl, I never imagined I could achieve something big or even venture beyond the village’s borders. Yet, here I am – and what an incredible adventure it’s been!

Over the past five years, I’ve built not just a popular dreads shop, but a space filled with heart and soul. It’s a place where creativity thrives, and individuality is celebrated. Beyond that, I’ve fostered a global community, with more than 140 students from all corners of the world, eager to explore the art of creating synthetic dreads. This journey is nothing short of amazing!

My journey as an artist and dreadmaker began with a deep passion for self-expression and individuality. What started as a personal curiosity soon evolved into a full-fledged career through a lot of education – both online and offline courses, learning from teachers, and hundreds of hours of practice. Before this, I had no experience with making dreads or even working with hair. I was unsure, insecure, and had no support. But despite my doubts, I took a step into this new world because I couldn’t find myself in any other profession – not even as a biologist, which I studied for, or in IT jobs I tried. Learning how to make dreads and opening my Etsy shop DreadsCorner on my own, without any help or knowledge, succeeded because I chose to believe in myself.

Outside of creating dreads, I’m just a regular person who loves to stay active — I’m a bit of a gym rat! I have a passion for exploring new places and countries, always seeking new adventures. Although I’m an introvert at heart, once I’m with ‘my people,’ I’m fun, open, and love to laugh. When I’m not working on dreads or traveling, you can find me buried in a book or at the gym. I also have a deep interest in psychology and, let’s be honest, I’m a bit of a nerd too! Oh, and being a good older sister and a proud auntie to my four amazing nieces and nephews always keeps me smiling 💕

Now, I’m proud of the results, and I’m so happy to pass on the knowledge, courage, and support to my students. Helping them find confidence and skill in this art is one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. My background is steeped in a love for artistic expression and the beauty of diversity, which I now channel into my craft ♡
